What is the Q Centre?
Here at the University of Calgary, we embrace pride and value diversity and all genders. When it comes to choosing which post-secondary is right for you, it is important to consider an institution that respects the dignity of all people and fair treatment of all individuals. The Q Centre is just one of the many resources to ensure a safe, inclusive, and comfortable space for the LGBTQ2S+ community!
The Q Centre is a welcoming place for students to read about LGBTQ2S+ related topics, study, speak with a peer support volunteer, or just relax and socialize with others! At the Q Centre, you will also find a library along with several peer support services for students and volunteers.
During the fall and winter semesters, the Q Centre was able to provide virtual drop-in services in light of Covid-19. Throughout the year, they also host fun activities and events for students such as a virtual games night for students to connect with each other and socialize!
Additionally, the Q Centre offers a Queer Mentorship program for LGBTQ2S+ full-time undergraduate students. In this program, students are to be paired with an established, queer-identified mentor for both personal and professional guidance and support!
The Q Centre is an amazing place for all individuals to feel empowered and supported! Learn more about the Q Centre here and find out how you can get involved when you start your UCalgary journey!
