Strategic Advisory Board (SAB)
This Board defines and guides the vision, strategy and expectations of the institute so that its full potential is realized. The Board is accountable for:
- Promoting partnerships that enhance the potential for the institute’s success
- Alignment and effective working relationships with the Alberta Health Services (AHS) and the University of Calgary (UofC) that lead to shared success
- The success of the institute’s director
- The community reflecting pride and confidence in the institute
- Ensuring the evaluation of programs such that they meet the highest international standards

Executive Council
The Executive Council is the primary governance Council of the McCaig Institute for Bone and Joint Health (MIBJH). It has a primary fiduciary responsibility to the Dean of the Cumming School of Medicine to carry out an efficient and judicious implementation and maintenance of the Strategic and Business Plans of the MIBJH.

Research Committee
The Research Committee is a standing committee in the Executive Council of the McCaig Institute for Bone and Joint Health (MIBJH) and provides oversight of research activities at the MIBJH. It has a primary fiduciary responsibility to the Executive Council of the MIBJH to support and promote basic and clinical science in line with the Strategic and Business Plans of the MIBJH.

McCaig Education Committee
The McCaig Education Committee (MEC) is a standing committee in the Executive Council of the McCaig Institute for Bone and Joint Health (MIBJH) and provides support for trainees and highly qualified professional (HQP) staff.

McCaig Trainee Committee (MTC)
The McCaig Institute Trainee Committee (MTC) is composed of a broad range of trainees from across the McCaig Institute at the Masters, PhD, and Post-Doctoral Fellow level whose mandate is to foster a sense of community among McCaig Institute trainees, enhance their training experience within the Institute, and represent the interests of trainees within the McCaig Institute.
