Introducing Calgary’s first bouldering-specific climbing gym! This business was established in 2017 and is co-owned by Regan Kennedy, who completed a Bachelor of Education at our Werklund School of Education. Calling all dessert lovers! Your life will be changed for the better after you try a delicious cupcake from Crave. Co-founded by Jodi Willoughby, who completed a Bachelor of Community Rehabilitation from our Cumming School of Medicine, this bakery started out in the trendy Calgary neighbourhood of Kensington in 2004. Milk Jar Candle Company Inc

This local candle brand has become increasingly popular over the years, and it’s no secret why! Holly Singer, who completed a Bachelor of Science with our Faculty of Kinesiology, started Milk Jar Candle Co. – a company that blends her love of creativity with natural wax candles and passion for giving back to the community. Milk Jar is known for donating to non-profit programs that support disabled people in Alberta, and for being a role model for inclusive employment. Neo Financial reimagines the way that people spend and save their money and earn rewards by using technology to simplify finances and create rewarding experiences. Their goal is to allow for people earn instant cashback at their favorite stores, by opening an account with them and signing up on their app. This financial services technology company was co-founded by Kris Read, who earned a Bachelors degree and a Masters degree, both in Science, at the University of Calgary.

The Silk Road Spice Merchant

The Silk Road is a family business that was founded in 2008, when the co-founders realized how difficult it was to find the spices, herbs, and chiles they needed for all the recipes they wanted to try. Colin Leach, who completed a Bachelor of Arts, and Kelci Hind, who completed a Bachelor of Nursing, graduated from the University of Calgary and were passionate about the ability of spices to turn a standard kitchen into an incredible adventure.
