Research Interests
Leigh investigates musculoskeletal adaptations across the lifespan.
Leigh’s research is focused on musculoskeletal development across the lifespan. Her research includes
examining bone and muscle development in children and adolescents using peripheral quantitative computed
tomography (pQCT) and high-resolution pQCT (HR-pQCT) and understanding how physical activity and
sedentary time influence growth and development. Leigh also investigates the effect of extreme loading
conditions (i.e., spaceflight) on bone adaptation.
