Research Interests

Lisa is using thromboelastography (TEG) to examine blood coagulation changes over time in patients post-orthopaedic surgery. As individuals with cancer are known to exhibit abnormal clotting responses, she is specifically investigating patients with metastatic bone disease (ie: cancer that has spread from its initial site into the bone). She aims to use the results of her study to support the development of guidelines for prescription of anticlotting medication that is appropriate, effective, and personalized for each unique patient.
