What happens to your shoulder when you use crutches?

Crutches help people with mobility problems to move in their environment. However, our shoulders are not evolutionarily designed to bear weight with crutch-walking. This study is looking at how using crutches affects the movement of the shoulder blade (scapula) and the activity of the muscles around your shoulders.

Investigators will use a motion capture system to measure how the shoulder moves while you use different types of crutches. They may also use stickers that measure how the muscles around your shoulder are firing while you walk with crutches. Inclusion criteria: Healthy adults aged 18-35, BMI - 18.5 - 24.9.
